We address the profound impacts of climate change in the Sahel region of West Africa (including the Lake Chad Basin) and southern Nigeria through fostering dialogue, collaboration, and active participation. We empower vulnerable communities and civil societies to shape climate policies. We advocate for just mitigation and adaptation strategies to create an inclusive and equitable response to the climate crisis, ensuring fair climate outcomes and sustainability for all in the region.
We believe that sustainable work is locally led. Along with implementing community-owned water projects, our local partners help facilitate comprehensive water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programming to protect everyone’s long-term health.
We collaborate with gas-flaring and forest communities, safeguarding rights in Nigerian carbon offset projects. Sharing coastal and Lake Chad stories boosts climate impact awareness, spurring government and organizational adaptation actions.
